Acknowledgements

The people you know affect who you are. If I didn't know the people I do, I would be a different person. Heck, I might not even be a writer! And that's a fate too dreadful to imagine. So I'd like to thank the people who have made a permanent impact on my writing. I won't say their real names, but they know who they are. Thank you:

To the writing group. May the fun not stop with our teenage years but continue well into adulthood.
To Martha, for geeking out about all books with me, and talking and listening endlessly.
To Maddie, for Nutmeg, your big imagination, and your hilarious sense of humor.
To the Book Club, some of my favorite people in the world, and talented writers all:
To Kyra/Cira, the best darn confidant a girl could want, and for being the one who says "Show me more!" about every piece I show her no matter how bad it is. You can read her writing here.
To Byrdie, for the honest kind criticism that I truly use, the emotional support, and the deep conversations I couldn't have with anyone else.
To Alicia, for the lifesaving everyday conversations that have gotten me through some of my worst days, and your stunning ability to think like a normal human being and not a crazed Emalian.
To Mira, for the grass-flinging war against Kyra (😋) and for your matter-of-factness and willingness to talk about anything except romance.
To Lucy, for the grounding stabilizing point of view and your utter lack of insanity, which our book club dearly needs. Thank you for your never-ending patience, and for taking on all the jobs that require even a trace of organization.
To Tokyo, for your perseverance, patience, and cheerfulness in these trying times. We miss you and love you.
To Lyssam, for knowing Sierra, the fire magician, well (but not too well 😉) and for being so utterly ridiculous.
To my parents, for embracing the crazy and homeschooling us.
To my genius brother, Starfish-Brain, for that insult, a plethora of made-up words, and the flying-pancake inspiration. (My idea!) You are more of an inspiration than you know.
To Grandma and Papa, for the encouragement and faithful readership, and for all the meals and home repairs and Christmas ornaments.
To my family in general for their stories.
To my little cousin, for understanding me and for inspiring parts of Lily, the water magician.
To the ducks, for listening to my poetry and being my harshest critics.
To the cat, for being my spirit animal.
To the dog, for sharing my adventures.
Finally, to the LORD, for being beautiful and awe-inspiring and there, and for making me this way.

Let this serve as an Acknowledgements for every book I've ever written or am writing.
