Baking a Book

I like to write, and I also like to bake. And today I was making chocolate chip cookies for my dad, I found the connection: writing and baking follow very similar processes.

The recipe is the plot. The chocolate chips are the good guys, and the raw eggs are the bad guys. The oven is the conflict. The happy ending is when the cookies come out of the oven and the eggs have been defeated, and the chocolate chips are changed for the better. I'm not sure why I'm sharing this - I just thought that it was an apt metaphor for the wonder of books. And sweets.
