Some Poetry

Sanctuary
In the quiet
Of the garden
The wind in the corn
The quacking ducks in morn
The bees among the basil
The weedy
Blueberries
And fruitless
Apple tree.
In the quiet
Of the garden
The algae in the pond
The gourds wind on and on
The cucumbers and their trellis
The barren
Flower-bed
And tomatoes
Gold and red
In the peace
Of the garden.

After Reading of the Colonies
O Opportunity!
So undefined
And yet that's your draw.
We're human, we take chances,
Make risky moves,
Gamble, take
The road less traveled by,
Get lost on purpose, chase rainbows,
Stare at each blank page
With joy.
You are the hope!
You are the future!
What we want
And want for one
Another. Dear Lord,
Let us press forward,
Face each blank page
With joy.
