You bring us home on cards and gifts,
On dresses, jewelry, ornaments--

We shine forth with mischievous glee,
A scourge of all humanity--
We're in your clothes and in your hair,
Bejeweled armies everywhere--
Invite us in? We'll never leave,
Though you spend eons vacuuming--
Shun us, curse us, still you'll fall:
Our deceptive beauty defeats all.
