Write It! Summer Challenge

Hello! Over the summer, now that it is indeed summer, I will be posting weekly writing prompts. The first writing prompt is, write a true story from a family member. Here's my example:

Once my grandfather was on his lunch break in the park when he found a baby robin at the base of a tree. He looked up, and sure enough, there was nest in the tree, with another baby bird in it. So he took the fallen robin and put it back in the nest. But the other baby bird kicked it back out onto the ground! My grandfather looked up again and saw another, vacant, nest, and put the baby robin in that one. One day, some days later, he he was again on his lunch break in the park, sitting at a picnic table under the tree, when he noticed a young robin in the tree above him, singing. As he went about his business, the robin followed him, singing all the while. He was sure it was the same bird he had rescued.

Family stories are always interesting, and I'm sure summer brings back many memories of when adults were still full of adventure. Of course, the person doesn't have to be an adult - he could be your cousin, your sibling - anyone in your family with a story to tell.
