It has not yet snowed where I am, but I know that is not true for other places. Still, it's beautiful outside - the temperature has not risen above freezing for days, and the hills are concealed by a thick freezing fog. When the frost is so thick it looks like snow, I like to go out with a pen, notebook, and camera, and record the frozen details of the yard. The camera takes rather blurry photos, and cannot zoom in nearly as much as I'd like, so mostly I use the notebook. Its pictures are not much clearer, but get much closer to the ice crystals than my camera can.
Try writing precise, concrete descriptions of ice, snow, and frost. They don't have to be long or even particularly coherent. My fingers were very cold, so I tried to write as few words as possible. One fuzzy line reads, "Leftover tomatoes leaves, ice sculptures." Maybe if you write five words to remember the image, you can go back later to describe it in more detail, even once the frost is evaporated and the icicles have all melted.

Have a great day! ;)
