Here's a writing prompt: let's take one of the most clichéd story lines in history, the guy-pretends-to-like-girl-for-deceitful-reason-and-falls-in-love-with-her-for-real. Write that story.
If you give that prompt to a dozen different people, you will get a dozen different stories, because it's so open-ended. It's dramatic, romantic, and doesn't demand a happy ending. Perhaps clichéd isn't the right word - how about archetypal?
