Summer Writing Goals 2019

What are your goals this summer, language-wise? I want to read the dictionary. Since school ended, I have been working on new and better writing ideas, too. My friends and I are going to collaborate on a book, which will be interesting. There's a lot of us, so it will take more than just this summer. But most of all, my goal is to keep up on my reading.
Summer is a time without school, a time when the weather is beautiful, a time when you don't want to read, but simply enjoy the outdoors. So how do you cram in all that reading you've been meaning to do?
One way is what my family does: we have an hour before lights-out to read, or, as I sometimes do, write. Later bedtimes make this more practicable.
Another option is to read en route on vacations. In summer, we tend to take a lot of 'em. On the way to and from, I often read a book or type up the beginnings of a story on my tablet.
Also, many libraries have summer reading programs for adults, kids, and teens. This is a good way to keep up reading over the summer and to get to know your local library better.
On those sweltering days when all you want is lemonade and a good book, I have some suggestions for summery reads. You can find them in the Top 5 section under Summertime Children's Books. They're good for adults, too.
