The Best Vocab Builder Ever!
I just started a new way to build my vocabulary. It's easy, and if you own a notebook, pencil, and collegiate dictionary, you're set.
I couldn't get through the dictionary by straight reading, because I lost my spot, and in those thousand of pages, I'll never find it again, so I took my diary and whenever I find a word I don't know, I write it down and look it up and put its definition in, too. Three of the words I've found are altruism, hyrax, and lassitude.
Surprisingly, I write down at least three words every day. Two of them I've had to look up online because they weren't in the dictionary. I bet it's always been like this, but because of my "Journal of Definitions" exercise, I notice them and learn what they mean.
You should try this. It's actually very interesting.
