Highway Meridians

A very random writing prompt: describe the highway meridians you've seen. They're actually quite interesting, with all their litter and weeds.

In Eastern Washington, it's all cheat grass and tumbleweeds and sagebrush. In the summer, it might be burnt cheat grass and tumbleweeds and sagebrush.
In Oregon, depending on the season, the meridian might be abloom with lupines of every imaginable color, a veritable rainbow among lush green leaves, just growing wild.
In Texas, in the middle of a blinding rainstorm, a car slid off the road into the muddy gray meridian. That's when we got off the highway.

There's beauty everywhere, if you look.
