Hey y'all! I just wanted to drop in and spotlight a story by a fellow young writer Abby Burrus, who I've had the pleasure of interviewing on my author website. Abby's book Beneath the Willow Tree is part of the Christian Indie Black Friday sale, and is currently free for a limited amount of time! This is a great opportunity to support a young writer as she breaks into the publishing world.
Beneath the Willow Tree is a Christian story about a Christian fantasy short story about fear, trust, pain, and a choice offered to a slave girl. Here's the synopsis from Abby's website:
Nova's world is controlled by the Mark. Embedded in the skin of all born in her world, those who are stronger control the weaker by it. Pain, betrayal, and fear are imprinted on Nova's soul as her Mark is in her skin. Her one solace in this Mark-controlled world is a willow tree on the bank of a lake that she goes to sit under at the end of the day.
But one day, she meets a Man different from them all. He is Mark-less. And beneath the willow tree, he tells her who he is, and the choice he offers her. The unheard of, the impossible, what she has dreamed of.
But for Him to do it, she must trust him, something she is sure she cannot do again.

When you subscribe to Abby's newsletter, which you can find on her website, you get to read the first part of the story for free--a great way to test it out.

Here's a little bit more about Abby:
Abby Burrus is a horse lover, Christian, and avid reader. Her reading varies from C. S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia to historical nonfiction and anything else she thinks she'll like. Her writing can be just as varied, although her all time favorite genre to read and write is Christian fantasy. Her writing is meant to entertain, inspire, and encourage people in this world and at the same time point them to another one.
I hope you check out Beneath the Willow Tree and Abby's website. Have a great day, y'all!
