[Photo: An old-fashioned Christmas ornament hanging over a Christmas light, with a spinning piece of foil inside.]
A bit about this kind of ornament: It's very old. Mine was given to me by my great-grandmother. A small whirligig made out of foil rotates on a spindle inside the ornament when heat rises from the bulb under it. These ornaments were more effective (and more popular) when older, hotter (and less safe) bulbs were used, and even before that, when trees were lit with candles.
